CompTIA Security+ (SY0-601) Exam

ECPI University students & alumni can use library resources and GetCertified™ to earn their CompTIA Security+ certification.

Please note that cybersecurity students taking CIS230L or ACS200L (Advanced Cybersecurity Lab) may be eligible to receive an exam voucher from their ACS200L/CIS230L course instructor. Students should contact their program director or academic advisor for more information.

Step Two: Use the GetCertified™ “course” to finalize your exam prep and demonstrate to ECPI University that you’re ready to test!

Step Three: Requesting the voucher and making your exam payment.

When you’ve completed the “course” in GetCertified™, you will receive a digital badge* which you must redeem. You’ll then complete another online form through GetCertified™.

Step Four: MANDATORY ACTION ITEM FOR ALL NEW COMPTIA TESTERS.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ANYONE TESTING ON CAMPUS: ECPI University staff cannot schedule you for a CompTIA certification exam until your CompTIA customer account has been created and verified.

CompTIA Account Creation & Verification—Start at the CompTIA Sign In page. | Log in with your email address* and password, or create a new account if you don’t yet have one. | On your account home page, locate the Schedule Your Exam section and click on the Schedule Now button. | Complete or verify all your information on the profile form and click the Save Updates button.

*Please be sure to use an active, valid email address when creating your account. Important information about your exam results and certification status will be sent to the address you use to create your testing account.

Step Five: Scheduling the exam.

Once you’ve made your voucher payment and completed Step Three & (if applicable) Step Four, ECPI University staff will be in touch to assist with scheduling.

ECPI University students and alumni may test in one of three ways.

OPTION 1: Take your test on campus—if your campus offers on-site Pearson VUE testing.
OPTION 2: Use your voucher code to schedule your exam at a nearby off-site Pearson VUE testing site.
OPTION 3: Use your voucher code to test at home using Pearson’s OnVUE testing platform.
